MENUS I LOVE PART 1: Delarosa SF

People wonder why I don’t “review” restaurants on Tasty Bits and I always respond by saying that I like to write about topics that are accessible to all, so I try not to write about restaurants, until now. There are certain menus that I love because they either contain a few items that are ridiculously good, I crave when I haven’t had them for a while and/or want to try at home. As majestic as Maui is, there is one thing inherently missing that I found on the Big Island and that is, the spirit of “Aloha”. The residents of Hawaii of all shades, [Read More...]

CHAIN, CHAIN, CHAIN?

If Houston’s, Bandera, Gulfstream, Rutherford Grill, West Beverly Grill, R&D Cafe etc. etc. are part of a chain, then chain me up! I will tell you that none of these restaurants belong to a “chain”, but in fact, a privately held restaurant group. Hillstone aint no Applebee’s. Fans would shudder at the comparison and rightly so. Houston’s, now Hillstone, is one of my top 5 favorite restaurants. Stop gasping food snobs. Eat there and you will know why. I am going to share a few pics from Hillstone in San Francisco, followed by a list of reasons why I heart Hillstone. A prominent cook book editor said that the grilled [Read More...]
